A Glance at Our Curriculum

Dive into the vibrant world beneath the waves! Children will learn about ocean habitats, marine life, and the importance of protecting our oceans. Activities include creating seashell art, building sandcastles, and singing songs about ocean creatures.

Ocean Explorers

Pitch a tent in our imagination! Children will explore the wonders of nature walks, campfire stories (pretend fire of course!), and the fascinating world of insects and bugs. They'll practice building skills with blocks, sing songs about nature, and learn about responsible outdoor exploration.

Camping Adventures

Uncover the mysteries of the prehistoric era! Children will be paleontologists digging up "dinosaur bones", creating fossil art, and learning about dinosaur species. Story time will be filled with dino tales, and imaginative play will allow them to become mighty dinosaurs themselves.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the benefits of a nature-based preschool?

Nature-based learning fosters a love for the outdoors, encourages exploration and curiosity, and promotes physical activity. It also helps develop social skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.

Is there a specific curriculum followed?

We have a play-based curriculum that utilizes nature themes as a springboard for learning. This allows us to integrate science, math, language arts, and social-emotional development in a fun and engaging way. We also schedule frequent STEM classes with a real-life scientist.

What is your teacher-to-student ratio?

We maintain a low teacher-to-student ratio to ensure personalized attention and supervision for all children. This allows for better engagement and fosters a safe and nurturing learning environment.

How do you handle allergies and dietary restrictions?

Currently, we operate as a nut-free facility. We work closely with parents to understand and accommodate any allergies or dietary restrictions your child may have. Please discuss these with us in detail during the enrollment process. We can work together to create a safe and inclusive environment for all.

This program is designed to serve as a bridge between Pre-K and Kindergarten to give our oldest students their own space to prepare for their next step. Traditionally, TK is students who turn 5 before 12/31/2024 or those who make the cut off but need an extra year before heading into a full day program. These students will take their Pre-K building blocks as they journey through the small group work stations and advance at their own pace. Our TK program will be using the North Carolina curriculum guides to give these students a head start to their Kindergarten year.

Pre-K is what most children will complete the year before Kindergarten. This is the most amazing year for both early math, reading, and social skills. In Pre-K students will learn to write their names, form letters, and even start sight words. Pre-K is designed for students who have traditional birthdays and will make the cutoff for public/private Kindergarten. These students will get the same opportunities to advance at their own pace as the TK students and will be ready to roll into Kindergarten!
